Shortly after leaving Marinha Grande, you'll drive through the Forest of Leiria, a vast pine forest planted in the 13th century by King Afonso III to stabilize the sand dunes and provide wood for the shipbuilding industry. The forest offers a lush green canopy and a tranquil atmosphere, this scenic route is approximately 7 kilometers long and provides travelers with a delightful mix of natural beauty and the pleasure of driving. As you near charming coastal village of São Pedro de Moel you start to catch glimpses of the panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean coastline.
