BIG UPDATE: Thank you all for the support, and for those still following this thread, here is the update as of 10th august 2021.
I have completely overhauled the model, with AO maps for the interior, rims, and body, allowing for better accuracy and much better looking materials. I also completely remodelled the rear wagon portion of the interior, again for more accuracy to the real life counterpart. It still isn't 100 percent and probably won't include any animations even in its final state, but I am going to include some cool features in the skins folder for those that download it once I upload it, but here is what it all looks like as of now. I will post a video of the finished car to show off but I'd say its 95 percent complete as of right now. heres some more photos for you lovely people
Hey all! I have always been fascinated by the early Impreza wagons, specifically pre 2000 models. The problem is, is that there hasn't been one in any game. Ever. The only one I can find is from early Gran Turismo games. but in assetto corsa, a model with 3k polygons and no interior from a game more than a decade old wouldn't cut it for me! So I made one myself.
I started with the model of the version 6 STi Type R from Gran Turismo sport, and completely remade the whole rear half of the car, just to make a high poly version just for me. I will attach some photos below of what it looks like in both blender and in game, but keep in mind, it still is missing some stickers and other minor details. The wide arches is modelled after ABW Motorsrpots classic arches, but I haven't got them on in game at the moment
Im super happy, as this is the only high poly classic STi V6 wagon model made for any game in history that I have been able to find. I wouldn't have gone through all this effort if I had!
To model the rear section, using countless reference photos only, as I couldn't find any blueprints for modeling, I did the following.....
- extended the roofline
- widened the rear tailgate (and changed the light width to match)
- modelled 3rd rear wagon side and back windows
- modelled STi upper and lower spoilers
- converted from 2 door to 4 door, (inside of door still looks like a 2 door as of now)
- extended inside roof liner, and modelled rough rear inside
- changed the glass window shapes to accommodate the shorter front doors
- extended rubber seals along roof
- added roof rails
- added wagon rear windscreen wiper (no animation yet)
- added rear hatch handle
The polycount is over 350k so it's not practical but it was just for me. If people want it then maybe I'll try to zip and upload it for you guys but it was mainly a project for myself, Currently anyway!
I also am using the sound bank from aphidgod, A3DR and David Cervones' WRX GD tuned mod, so it sounds incredible! the handling has been based around that mod too, with custom power figures, suspension, engine, drivetrain and more to come in future. I feel bad for using someone elses mod as a base, but all the textures are custom and the model is completely different so hopefully it doesn't make me too much of a bad person!
Any opinions or questions, feel free. I'd be happy to answer!
