QUESTION 3D Studio Max (Track Template) ?

Hello, and thanks for the look!

Is there a 3dmax "community file" of some type with all of the needed start/dummys and bare bones needed to properly get a map exported out of max? (provided you didednt mess something else up)

I can model/skin/and create textures, and have done so for many other games and engines and would love to make stuff for this community..... that im actually very new too (ya I know... it is what it is ).

But after all the tutorials I have viewed and tried.... Im still trying to get something loaded in game. Rechecking file names... orientations of my dummys and there heights. Over simplifying things with as few elements/texture operations, uv's and so on to try and find out what im missing or doing wrong.

Thats why Im asking if there is a (working starter file or template) for starting tracks in 3D Studio Max?

If a guy like me is having issues getting content into game.... this community owes it to itself to make something like that available. So that "maybe" the most fun track(s) you ever drove in your life will come to life and be available to play... then never getting seen because some guy left a TINY detail of the engines workflow out or some file was in lower case or you missed a underscore.

If one is currently not created I will attempt to make one and share with everyone after I get it down.
Can expect someone with a great layout idea... to have a developer's workflow in mind.
I do VERY much appreciate all the effort and time people have put into the videos and tutorials and am not trying to knock them at all.

But IMO I think a template will help ALOT..... if not more then all the tutorials put together. Then if your map dont load... you have a IDEA were to start problem solving then wondering, get frustrated and give up... rather than have no idea were to troubleshoot.

I got 3DMax, but exporting a starting template for other formats Blender,Maya, whatever would be easy.

If someone can model an entire track in 3DS Max but not be able to sort out the pivot orientation of a dummy helper, I doubt it will be "the most fun track" I'll ever drive on

Everything needed to get a track up and running is documented here: https://assettocorsamods.net/threads/build-your-first-track-basic-guide.12/

Hey man.... I NEVER SAID "I CAN" build the best track ever! OR that "I HAVE" I problem with pivots!

Learn how to read cohesively... but I can see your obviously challenged and have no problem wasted your time typing that useless garbage that helps nobody and demotivate the ones willing to trying to learn and GIVE SOMETHING then just being as useful as gum under a desk.

What a BUZZ KILL!

Not what I said at all. My opinion was that if someone - and I never said that person was you… had experience creating models and build race tracks in 3ds max, a template would not be necessary, since that modeler would easily be able to create the necessary helper files.

I also directed you to a post where we (the community) have been posting tutorials and how-tos way before you joined. This forum is also filled with information on how to do pretty much anything with the game.

Your idea of having a template is no better than reading what’s already available in the tutorial. We push for modders to learn and develop skills, not simplify anyone’s project. But that’s my opinion, so don’t let me stop you from creating a template.

My name is on a lot of the posts here, and I guarantee you most of it isn’t “garbage”.

Happy to do more than a warning if you keep up the attitude :)
