I'm trying to unwrap my interior to get a nice template so I can bake in the shadows, but not sure which is the best way to do it. Looking at other mods and official cars they seem to separate the parts of the dash and lay them out in their own islands, so should I be splitting the mesh up into parts?
Unwrapping with just basic seams creates all sorts of stretched shapes, some of the more flat parts I can get away with projecting from view but it seems a bit cheap. Are there any unwrapping pros that can give me a few pointers please?
