QUESTION Rescale track

Hi,
I have problem with track scale. My track is too small and idk how to rescale it. First im gonna say that i was using RTB but i had to convert track to 3dsmax to add pits and start positions. So now i have track in 3ds max. Is there a way to rescale it there? or meaby i have to convert from 3ds max to blender.

I'm not a 3D MAX guy, but the operation should be the same in either software.
You'd use a scaling function.

1 - Set up a baseline. This can be track width, track length or whatever means you used to determine that the track is too small.
2 - Decide how big the track should be. Maybe set another baseline (measurement line).
3 - Derive a scale factor from the 2 baselines by creating a mathematical fraction. Put the desired measurement on top and the baseline on the bottom. (Desired Length/Actual Length = The Amount to scale) So if the fraction turns out to be 120/100, you need to scale the track UP by 20% or... by a factor of "1.2".
4 - Both 3D Max & Blender have a scaling function so you should be able to apply that to your existing track.

You have to decide whether to scale in 3D or 2D - that depends on whether you've already incorporated the correct elevations (which would be absolute) or just elevation differences. Scaling in 3D will just the elevation differences greater (but they will stay proportional to the track).

Ensure you only scale the track - otherwise all your other assets will scale as well. Probably means you'll have to reposition a lot of the track furniture.

I'd think so... Give it a shot and see what happens.

As an FYI... Always try to use real world units for construction. Makes things so much simpler... :)
