W.I.P. Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières road layout

My god, amazing work B.

I was there yesterday, there was some country concert at the stadium. You can see turn one is used as a giant parking lot.

the circuit installation is almost ready for next week, most temp walls have been set up, but the roads are still accessible, so i drove it twice and came back with a better camera and my bike and spent two hours shooting everything for my texture library :)

quite a feeling to be there and drive it for real after sooo many hours of virtual driving.
Wow, great shots! Those trees near the Ecurie are a lot more mature these days. Also didn't realize that the curbing has a bit of elevation at Villeneuve corner. Any chance you got shots of the baseball stadium wall?

Of course i can share, but those picture are 6000x4000 and really Trois-Rivièresque, might not be useful for everyone, i'll do a selection of walls kerbs and tyres and post it here for you guys.

B, i'll send you everything, it will help for trees and all. I visit NiTZHD (the instigator of this thread) tomorrow to see their formula 1600 car, and we'll try to talk to the GP race director, they're friends. I'll do some more photos too. and i'll try to get the stadium walls.

No rush, I'm about to send the race update for tomorrow to Julien and then going to take a bit of time away from the project to enjoy some of the summer. That's cool about NiTZHD...should be a fun meeting!

Amazing job! Keep up the good work! This will become a masterpiece.

I think the building windows are much too reflective and somehow irritating in VR.
If you want to use ksPerPixelReflection shader maybe try to use a dds texture without alpha channel.

Appreciate the feedback! Still a long way to go, but its coming along.

As for the windows, yes, these still need to be optimized...still a lot of learning to do on the optimal values for shaders. Right now the student residence building along the back straight has a strong mirroring appearance which will need to be lowered. Are there others with VR that really stand out?

This is amazing, I've been working on an ALMS 2002 season since that is what I've found most skins for and had never heard of this track, had a different version from RF1 already that I had not played (I download a lot of random stuff) and this blows that away. Thanks for the hard work you guys!

Wow, there has been some progress here! I haven't had a "new post" email from this site from a while, so I missed some progress.. and the races :(

I'll download the track and try it today.

Good job guys :)

Coincidentally, that's how I got involved in this project. I actually converted the rF version over around the same time the other version came out, as this was the most glaring need for ALMS 02/03...luckily Martin had started on a Lidar version that was so much more detailed. Traded in the paintbrushes for Blender. Maybe one day we'll see Washington and Miami too...

Looking forward to when we can get a new update out. Martin's reference photos are proving invaluable for some of the new work.

It's strange that they use new tyres for their tyre walls.
I noticed that too when I visited Sachsenring.

Here's some photos i made in august on the GP3R circuit days before the races.
Excellent pack. Thank you very much for sharing. Imagine what a fantastic resource db we would make if more of us (me included) would do the same .

Maybe defective tires?
I worked in tire testing for a while.. you'd be surprised just how many tires go to the test facilities each week, and many are not "used up" completely but rather tested to certain usage cycles etc.
Also tires age a lot. Could often be old stock.
