QUESTION How to properly add kerbs in Blender?

Hi everyone,

I started to build my first track in Blender last december.
It's an existing go kart track, where I usually race.

I followed a french tutorial ('cause I'm french) to build the track.
I first built a rough version and tested it on AC. It worked perfectly.
So I decided to make a way better version, and here is the result at present:

I still have a lot more to do but for now I'm adding kerbs.
My current method is the following one:

1) I create a Bezier curve and make it match the position of the real kerb
2) I created a kerb tile which I duplicate and apply Array and Curve modifiers, based on the Bezier curve
3) I adjust the Bezier curve until I'm satisfied with the result...

But I'm not entierly happy with this method, it takes a lot of time and it's not perfect.
Sometimes the kerb is above the track :

How would you proceed?

Take the edge of the road where you need the curb to be. Duplicate and separate the edge into a separate object. Then convert that object into a curve. Then assign the curb object to the newly converted curve. In some cases I make a tail on the front edge of the curb model that will tuck under the road surface so there won't be any holes.

Thank you for your answer. I've started over building the curbs.
But I think I have a little difference with you, because the curb is included in the track width.
So I had to remove the allocated parts to the track to put my curbs.

Your method is working well, but I have a problem with the edges, which are not connected to the track. Plus, the original track profile is not entierely flat, so... the curb object doesn't fit :(

I was thinking about applying the array and curve modifiers and then adjust the curb object to make it fit the edges, what do you think?

Adjust the tilt and and scale with the curve points. You can apply the array but I wouldn't apply the curve. As long as it's still attached to the curve UV mapping is easy and can be projected from view. After you apply the curve that goes out the window. Then if any holes need to be cleaned up just close them up and snap to the curb by hand.

If there are still some tiny spaces between two objects, is there a way that could mess up anything when driving on it?

Are the kerbs on your track the same length on each corner, I can't figure out how to keep it consistent. It just squishes when I try, or no matter what axis I choose It looks horrid

I was trying this out, but the curb widens at the end, I am using an array modifier for this because of the red white pattern. Is there any other way to do this or am I just using my array modifier wrong? This isn't for AC btw.

I've had this problem too, sometimes it fixes if I select curve >edit mode>select all vertices>CTRL+T>Rotate 90... This makes the arrows on the curve follow better. Also if you have discord lmk I could message easier through there
