how can i put sfx sound in assetto section

CSP off; check | audio_sources.ini file; check | AC_AUDIO_0 node in kn5; check

It does not work.
Just to confirm... is this a separate KN5 you created for the audio objects? If it is, then you need a reference to it in models.ini

the object AC_audio_0 is in the same kn5 as AC_pit, AC_start, etc., and is referenced by models.ini

And what's strange is that REVERB seems to work, which is referenced by the audio_sources.ini

Is this a box or empty you are using?

it's a box; same box mesh as AC_start, etc., and same box mesh as AC_reverb.
Which is the correct file to reference:
1. ambience_1.wav
2. ambient_1.wav
3. ambient.wav

I ask because the file in sdk is "ambient.wav", while the GUIDs file references "ambience", i.e. w/o an "_1"

mh now when you say it and i tried it again too, i remember something about the audio stuff, you dont get to use ambient sound with vanilla stuff, only reverb nodes

nah, it works. Used it on Mosport but have to implement it in Road Atlanta still.

I do remember something weird about it... I think it wasnt working for me until I added a second node, or something... so maybe try adding multiple audio nodes?

in mosport 4 or 5 AC_AUDIO_ nodes in "mosport_timing.kn5"
only one reference in audio_sources.ini
and that gives some bird chirps

Guys, I’ve tried one audio node, two audio nodes. The reverb works, but the ambient nodes do nothing. Can you help me identify what’s gone wrong?


why is AC so darn frustrating, and wouldn’t it be in Kunos’ interest to provide understandable documentation?

They did a great job actually. If not in the SDK, then it was probably covered in the official Kunos forums... Not to mention A LOT was covered here by us.

If you can point out a better sim, with better documentation and easier to mod, im all ears!

Anyways, I know you are frustrated, but only so much we can do without looking at the actual files.

Are you able to point me to a track where you know the ambience-sound is working; one where I can open the kn5, inspect everything and see what I might be doing wrong?

The pit sounds and crowd noise are from my own soundbank, inserted with CSP.

The birds/nature sounds are from Kunos, done with the audio_sources.ini file and AC_AUDIO objects. You can hear them clearly in the middle of the track scenery.
