Aluminium profiles are great. Easy to work with and the lot.
I got 3 screens for ~400 euros. :)

Go get them Luchian!
Got my handbrake yesterday, Will need to modify that to suit my tolerances and needs aswell . Also in the discussion for some real badass hardware parts which would fit my rig brilliantly. We'll see how that turns out.

Not worth a update but I thought I'll show you guys. The spacers for the handbrake leveler before was shit, so I manufactured my own. See before/after video. Sorry for the ugly print but my usual video editor fucked up.

Right, it's Sunday so update is coming ! :D. Even against the poor quality that HB is looking so sweet !
Thanks for sharing Alex. I'll go envy you in my corner now.

It certainly is! I was a inspector on saturday for a local rally so I got to check out all the cars, most for saftey things, but there was a Ford Fiesta R5 rallycar, lovely piece of kit, which I got to take some pics of aswell, will come in good use for the rig! Also did some more testing on the Sim Steering system. Now with a proper steeringwheel aswell. Made by Carsten Filmer (www.fi-tech.net)

I shall share some pictures of the last few days. I'll put them in spoilers.

I hope I can upload an iRacing picture without getting a life time ban....

If anyone need a close up picture of anything I have some of most of the cockpit area. PM me in case you need smth.

No update this weekend, sorry guys! Yesterday I was at a stupid course the whole day in Stockholm and thanks to that, I felt that I need a break today, so I watched v8 supercars and F1 instead
Will try to solider on next week. Only salvage would be that the how-should-I-manufacture-this brain department is going flat out as usual and the deal on badass hardware is done. Should hopefully be shipped next week sometime.

Upwards and onwards fellas.

Ha ha, I was wondering what's going on, being Sunday :p.
In any case, you won't see any pressure from us, since you're kind of way ahead with this type of project :D. Hopefully, your race worth it (apparently not), 'cause hazard makes it I've been at a race yesterday as well. But so little and so remote, that I won't mention more here :D.

Cheers Alex, patiently waiting for news.

Not much of an update but did machine some small stuff yesterday and new hardware should hopefully arrive later this week/early next! Things are going slow at the moment..

That is looking so tasty !
It will be as close as driving a real race car. So nice !

Any paint schemes planned ? :D

Ok, recap:
Are you building a simrig, or an actual race car ?!?
Damn.. all those goodies.. :D.
But this is just the pedal set. What about the electronics behind it ? Do you already have something in mind ? or how would that work ?

Hi bud.

I'm not sure anymore....

Already have all electronics except a circiut board. It works like theres a pressure sensor from the Willwood cylinder that goes to a loadcell amplifier, which then goes to a Leo Bodnar BU0836X board where all electronics go in then it goes into the PC via a HDMI cable for better bandwith. The throttle and clutch have Contelec Kl100 linear position sensors.
I will make a better explonation once it's all assembled and working.

Holy light ! ..and holy moly !
This is something one needs to see, touch, feel. Comes a point, when pictures don't cut it anymore. I really don't remember seeing a DIY rig of this proportion elsewhere. It will be very interesting to see this in motion.

Oh, and how about the cockpit frame ? is it as strong as you've anticipated ?

Have a look at Remco Hitmans brutal Tyrell P34 replica cockpit, that makes mine looking simple :D

Since it's not all welded in I can't really judge on that, but I'm not worried about stability, it will be solid.

Right fellas... I have been quite quiet lately. Small work last weekend and this weekend has been flat out on pedals, which obviously have to be re-done from scratch on throttle and clutch pedal. Pictures will be coming later.
