it looks over all a lot lot better, poly edges here and there. just gota sort the trees, grass. etc etc.

it has a very green winter feel at the moment. I kinda like how its set up presently. I can texture it my crazy way, but im thinking about trying it a bit more like ac does. anyway.

I think we should rip what we are changing out 1 by 1. rip them trees out. so we cant get lazy. and simply must make new trees... what you think F ??

wow, I see you've removed a lot of scenery. I do like that 2d plane for the mountains and it can mean more trees everywhere .lots of trees gone I see. :) I have been studying the Barcelona track. studying all the materials and settings used. as its in spain too

last time I textured this I think it looked good. but I effectively just used a lot of my own methods.

so I can go that route again or I can make it more like a kunos track in terms of where and when materials are used ???

are we going summer or winter look first ?

Take it easy Ali.... as I tell you yesterday I have no way to play assetto corsa, I didn't test that version ingame... I hope everything is ok, but I'm not sure... yesterday I need more time than spect to learn how to place rubber over the road, I want to add more rubber and your opinion about where to place them.

I belive every material as a proper skecth but maybe I forget something, also you can modify what ever you want... acctually the track looks horrible ingame with the textures I have used.

I forget to create and send you the new sketch textures with the UV layout over it to have reference of every boundary, I will do it that nigth after work.

EDIT:

I'm going to delete trees and create new models. ;) the only thing that is diferent in materials is the pitlane, you can use your textures and see what we have rigth now.... I belive your technique is the proper way to dress this track.

it looks great and feels great visually in game Fernando. I love all the little borders everything has, this is the way forward. I miss all the trees and I miss some of the scenery that got replaced. so we discuss that at the end. for now simple basic update the thing and create new standard base with materials you can apply and understand at the time.

ive opened it and studied it everywhere and im just dead happy to work on it again. and each day I work on it I will document in a text file my changes. I want you to add these and do the work necessary as I give it to you. if there is extra work to do for anything new, we do it before we move onto anything else. unless its problem and we discuss on ventrillo.

I am re doing every single texture where possible. A to Z.. and I will update you. I will also document exactly what material settings are required explicitly per texture.

so ill PM you 3 updated texture and 2 new ones. and with this you can have 4 tree variants now.i will also include details on what shader to use and what settings for the shader.

edit: ive went 1 further. 1 have a simple model of 4 y shaped trees now that willem made. and they have 1 texture, so that's 4 trees on 1 texture. we can duplicate this change material for 8 trees \o/

Sorry mtom, we don't know how many time we need to finish Ascari. :oops:

At this point, We don't want to post a relase date becouse there are a lot of things to do and not sure how many time we need... maybe months.... maybe weeks... for sure not days.

To be honest don't spect to drive on it this summer, it will be a surprise for me if we finish it before september comes.

We want to relase Ascari with physical mesh and 3d grass, we want to relase something to be proud... please sorry if it seems that we are selfish, we want to surprise you in a positive way, hope We are not causing the opposite effect.

Thanks for showing your interest for this track, belive us, we are working to do our best.

please exscuse its looks, nothing done there, just trying to get rubber to work. and it does, but not dynmaicly. besides the mapping is all wrong. the separate break zone marks are there too. still to be designed nice.

the invisible physics layer didn't note what corner. but yeah. various scans just plopped on top of each other.

we are going to try something unique for the road surface. but it will be kinda fictional. so where we have a rubber build up on track along the race line, we could do two things.

first we can dirty the track up from overnight winds blowing sand and dust everywhere. so as we race that gets clean along the line and then rubber up. but we could also incorporate marbles making the off race line much dirty. maybe we can do all that together with some good groove.ini figures. but that's what we try.

Beta version should be close to final product, maybe some tweaks after publish the track, but everything should be there, the concept of Beta has change in last years with lot of people making tracks and conversions.

We have tester, Jebus is helping us with more than great skins. ;) he is also "beta tester".

Also Danny (admin from 103 octanos ) how knows the real track very well is helping us as beta tester, thanks to him we made changes in both chicanes and now the track is really close to the real thing.

It is hard for me to tell you that you can't drive on it allready, but please wait.

not worked with the shaders yet. but I think overall this looks quite good. last night we captured new maps information. the area has been updated. so with some better imagery Fernando removed the grass border that we tiled a texture too and now it has the google imagery, so blending that will be amazing.

spent 11 hours today painting out trees and forests from satellite imagery and replacing them with what would be there. the transformation is apparent. the smoothness and overall look without any shaders, blending or hi rez textures is so much better.
