man my audio mic sucks, but I decided to record me babbling and taking a lidar point cloud to mesh in 3dsmax including obtaining it from the website as there are mistakes you can make even through requesting it.

removed. the background music received some strikes. I might make them again, if there is any requests.

quick test of the new track and sides on top of scenery. lots wrong but, nothing that cant be fixed including the utterly funky uphill and downhill. layout is good though. fix fix fix, and join it all.

managed to fix the track already. woohoo ! I'm quite excited now to be back on track with this baby. but its not really that. Its the repeatable and very quick method of track creation. its been 34.5 hours since lidar creation..35 hours from spline laying to driving first test version in game, 2500m of race track. track and sides only and underlying scenery without joins. I think that's pretty good going. obviously for a 4 km track you can double that time.

ok cool. trial and error it is then. I have this version of lime now. in the mx5 its super nice. not too bumpy. but in the gt3 cup Porsche it feels initially too bumpy. kinda weird. much fun to drive though, very lively surface that's for sure. not sure if the terrain ive not cut underneath is affecting it yet.

Seems a tad rough for the Mx5. I don't think Limerock is all that rough overall. The softer cars like that really make a track seem very smooth. I usually use a GT3 car to setup my bumps. With NJMP I was able to actually have a video of the same car in AC so that helped a ton. I'm sure there has to be a few Limerock videos with similar or same cars AC has. I'm always willing to test it out if you need more opinions. Often when you spend all this time trying different combos you get "numb" to it.

EDIT: Also watch some MX5 videos of iracing. I can make some if you want since I have access to it. It may be better than a real life video possibly since the camera is fixed a similar way to AC.

How many polys did you have for track layout? Did you have a physics and graphic mesh for track or just one including all?

Btw best regards for this.
At this early stage it seems yet an high quality project.
Looking forward for more update from this thread :)

poly counts. hmm, I think 400K for physics track, made from visual track, which is 1 poly every 1 metre. so the track is the lowest poly object in the scene. scenery comes to about 200 K I think.

added the chicane layout. cant wait to get off the road and onto the rest of it. all the side terrain upto the barriers all done too although you cant see it much here as ive filled the rest in for testing.

made the other extension today. runs nice. I must say these extra layouts don't do it for me really. just a fancy way to cull the speed.

thx man. tbh for me there is still a lot of little annoyances physically. I cant make out if it adds to the charm of it though. its the overall feeling I'm after and today I got exactly what I wanted from it. good times.

tried some impromptu driving with another on this track. Its one ballsy track when it come to horsepower. totally understand why they added the extensions now. most dangerous track in the world .
