This was an awesome race on my behalf. I'll try to tell you what I saw, so I'm not talking about all major events in the race, only those that I saw from the cockpit. I got a good start and took advantage of the battle between
@TCLF and
@luchian so I put some 5s between me and the second place. I knew I had a good setup, I was happy with the way the car handled and got used with the track and its condition (the best lap was a 1:52.332 and I think that was the fastest throughout the race).
The deciding factor was however
@TCLF's experience and sheer pace. Having saved his tires in the first half of the race he was now catching up on me, more than 0.5s per lap. Once he got behind me he tried to pass, which resulted in a nice battle (although short). He failed to pass me on the first try in Turn 1 when we traded places twice, but succeeded to take the lead about five corners later. He rapidly set himself at about 2.5s ahead of me, because of a problem I had with my pedals.
With 9 laps to go I figured I had plenty of time to catch
@TCLF. After all I was faster for the better part of the race until then. But at last, that was not case. He had cleverly saved the tires and he was consistently fast. He did 1:52.8 - 1:52.9 from there 'til the end each and every lap while I was struggling with the grip and the pedals.
To sum it all up:
It was an epic display of experience and pace from
@TCLF who consistently looked fast!
@luchian also had an unfailing pace at around 1:53.2 - 1:53.4, and in the final laps he was clearly gaining on me (too bad he was already too far to catch me and have some nice battle).
@Zoinx was looking good in the fourth place but he crashed in the final turn of lap 1 so that was that.
I haven't followed
@DaggTxs or
@KashunatoR, the other two racers today, but I will do so right about... now. Thanks for the replay!
I must say I'm really enjoying this league, even if only two races took place so far. But I really enjoyed this second one. Being relatively new to simracing I'm excited I get to race along you guys, maybe you can show me a trick or two.
