in addition to the settings in KSeditor as in the photo, then you will have to add the alpha to the materials with fotoshop

To have ksEditor actually save and load this correct (File-'save persistence file'):

use ksPerPixelAT... shaders:

note:
-ksAlphaRef>0 makes nicer shadows (same as with trees)
-you get more quality when using "alphablend", but then you MUST set the object to "transparent"
-using alphablend blendmode and transparent objects costs more performance than only using alphatest
-you may have to experiment with grey value in alpha channel, alphatest only works for rgb grey values below 220 or 210

surely there are other methods but quickly you can do so.
1. open CMshowroom
2. press the top menu
3. press driver to view it
4. press movable driver
5 press the T key on your keyboard
6. use the arrow to drag the driver below the ground level

Hey folks! Thx for a great thread for newbies! I have decided I want to try to make my own car mod. I Have no previous experience on car modding, especially the 3d department. So it will be a big challenge!

Have have started to get a simple 3d sketch up of the Honda RA302 body (made by Koalaboy) into blender, get the simple tires with dummies from Luchian's tutorial car, and an almost working steering wheel so far. (it was alot of trouble with scaling the fbx file from blender)

I'm at this stage atm. And yes you are allowed to laugh at my failed try on making the wheels! Looks like a car from a 90's game! xD

But I don't have any massive goals on the looks cause I don't have the knowledge for that. But I will try and hopefully learn as I go :)

If anyone is interested in the making of this car and got knowledge in 3d modeling all help is appreciated!
I can manage making decent physics and sounds but the graphical side will suffer.

Next step I want to add suspension animations. Any good tutorials for that around? :)

I would like to know how to change the sounds ...
to animate the suspensions you can find some example fbx files inside Steam \ steamapps \ common \ assettocorsa \ sdk \ dev \ car_pipeline_2.0rev \ Scene templates.
always in the same path you will find the Pipeline where you find quite well explained how to do the animations, the names etc, from page 56 onwards.
I know how to animate wipers, doors, wings and all about it, but I've never animated suspensions.
for the wheels, but for everything in general, you have to pay close attention to the orientation of the empty and their scales, which must always be numbers like 1.0, 0.10, 0.010 etc and in export you must have 1.0

Thank you for the tips! Are you a decent 3d designer? =)

To make sounds for AC you need to download fmod studio. The program is pretty easy to work with. The hard part about making car sounds is to get good sound samples!

I'm a non-expert 3d designer, but for a couple of years I have been using blender and gradually improving ..
