just cropped screenshots, what im doing is just not the kunos way. things can be sexier with lower ambient figures. and with range up to the fully diffuse values.

nailed it today with the grass variation matching the under ground texture on the new grass. back to a more basic design for the main texture I think like just dark mud. it works so well now the grass as a carpet uses the satellite image. \o/ whilst it doesn't convey clearly here, the autumn version ive planned will have this method used much more to take the colour out the grass.

some object merging for optimisation (took me 20 hours ) It now makes the grass have a negligible impact on fps. (gained 20-30 fps back from last tests) pleasantly surprised. whatever design choices are made, this engine can deal with extra layers of detail with good lod figures very easily it seems..

might be back soon to this , working in a different way. re calibrating my life. apologies.

21st feb.
LOL , and definitely wont be back to this now for Assetto corsa and before ACC is released. but I'm already loading it into ue4 today. Its going to be fantastic to work with 3d trees at last !

ok I'm making it in private from now on and for no one other than myself and too improve my skills. without demonstrating updates. you see when I gets like this its not very motivational. and the comments insinuating inability piss me of in the face of consistently proving my ability. its my attitude people don't like. I get that. I don't like theirs or their flashing blue lights of opinion. this is to get my stuff done, when its that time, ill re evaluate a release. in the meantime I have a
youtube channel to put my updates on.

I don't see a reason to quit a community. But I can understand keeping it to yourself, and just playing with it to learn and improve skills. Producing content for public might not be too much meaningful right now, there are only so much simracers, and only so much of content is practically needed, sadly.

The models and textures will not disappear anywhere. If you'll have back-ups :D

Good luck.

I want to do things differently with track making mantas` there isn't much scope for doing such a thing and protecting your ideas and displaying it in public all at the same time without gaining attention for the right and wrong reasons. my will to be different could be construed as the problem I guess. and to that I say screw your conformity. Of course this is instantly a contentious issue for anyone firm in the belief there is only one way.

Hi there, hows this project going on? Quiet for some time. I am asking, since I know some guy, who wants to make Lime Rock from scratch, but its pointless (I told him), since this looks very promising and amazing already.

id say go ahead and make it. you wont see anything from me anytime ever for with how I feel about the community.. ive learned a lot and thanks for the support to anyone who supported my project, I was just learning really, others wanted to take my expression more seriously to the extent that its interfering with my happiness in doing so. so I stopped and doubt ill start on this ac graphics engine again.

That's a real shame Pixelchaser. I didn't realize people were giving you that much of a hard/insulting time, but then again, I don't see every post you make and every response you get. Still, it bums me out to know you've given up due to the community. It was such a blow when aphidgod walked away...I think for similar reasons. Part of me says, "Screw them dude! Don't let any A-holes discourage you from doing what you enjoy. F that!" but then again, I'm not wearing your shoes, so I know I must respect your decision. :(

Hopefully one day in the future you'll change your mind. From what I saw you had some really interesting stuff going on. :)

it was interesting. i looked at some stuff last week and thought wow why did I stop ? but its a shame it got slagged off by various people. and that I'm way to sensitive for it at this moment.

anyway this future change of mind you speak of is a possibility. On Thursday I hope to get some good news (fingers crossed) and it might just be able to muster up the ability to continue. if it does go well, I will have been part of the most explicitly fantastical story of 4 year old karma that has ever been told . <hope>

SO !. I ended up getting my old job back that I was unfairly ejected from 4 years ago. its not a good job, but it gave me responsibility that I appreciated. it was close by and allowed me to be comfortable where I am. now to shed 4 years of depression (if that's even possible) and use what I have learned to continue somehow. whether I do that here or not is another question. Its not like anyone actually gives a shit here about the journey a modder makes. its just gimme gimme gimme. ohh and being held to ransom with buildings made for the track that you cant receive until its all finished . total nonsense.

Hi Pixelchaser,
Glad to hear that your personal situation has improved and that you are reconsidering continuing with what looks like a fantastic project - I was following it with great anticipation until you pulled the plug earlier this year. I just want to echo what others have said in that I sincerely hope you pick up where you left off, complete this track and release it to the public. Don't let a vocal minority put you off your passion - if you do, then they have won. There are a LOT of people eagerly anticipating this track and the groundbreaking grass tech it contains.
